Shane Adams, a BCA National student and now former job-seeker, announced at yesterday's graduation that he has recently gained employment thanks to completing our Diploma of Child, Youth & Family Intervention.
He said he started the course in the hope of working with youth and trying to get them off the streets, put a roof over their heads and encourage them to get back on track.
"I now have a job with Marist Youth Care working with youth and I'm enjoying it immensely," Shane said.
"It's a career where I am a positive role model and carer for youth; and I'm in a position to encourage and motivate them back into schooling."
"I also try to help them achieve a great sense of self worth and develop general life skills," he added.
"Without BCA National and all its staff this would not have been possible, and for that I am greatful."
Shane (pictured centre in the above photo) was able to participate in the course through the NSW Department of Education & Training's Strategic Skills Program.
